CQWW

CQWW is a series of international amateur radio contests that take place annually in November and December. The contests are organized by CQ Magazine and are sponsored by the CQ Amateur Radio Club.

There are two main contests in the CQ WW series: the CQ WW DX Contest, which is for long-distance communication, and the CQ WW SSB Contest, which is for voice communication using single sideband (SSB) modulation. Both contests are open to all licensed amateur radio operators and are held on different weekends to allow for maximum participation.

During the contests, radio operators attempt to make as many contacts as possible with other operators in different countries and regions. Points are awarded for each contact based on the distance between the two stations and the mode of communication used. Radio operators can participate in the CQ WW contests as individuals or as part of a team.

The CQ WW contests are popular among amateur radio operators because they provide an opportunity to test their skills and equipment, make new contacts, and learn about different cultures and geography. They are also a way for ham radio operators to share their knowledge and skills with others and promote the hobby of amateur radio.
