Ham Radio
The
Ham Radio magazine was first published in the November of 1967 by Thorvald
Tenney and started as a technical hobby focused on amateur radio. It was a
United States of America-based magazine whose office was in Greenville, New
Hampshire. Jim Fisk became the first editor of The Ham Radio Magazine. The
magazine drew its subscription base primarily from the United States of America
and Canada and was published in English.
In
1990, Ham Radio Magazine was sold to the publishers of CQ Amateur Radio. In
June 1990, the last known issue of Ham Radio was published. From then on, CQ
Amateur Radio took over the magazine's publication.
Some
reasons for the magazine's closure include the death of its first editor, leaving
the magazine struggling, the changing times, the publisher having enough of
magazines and wanting to retire, and amateur radio graying.
