The Adventure Radio Society (ARS) is an international
organization of amateur radio operators (also known as "hams") who
are interested in portable and outdoor radio communication. The ARS promotes
the use of portable and mobile radio equipment, as well as the exploration of
new and unusual locations for radio communication.
The ARS sponsors a number of activities and events for its
members, including portable radio operations, field days, summits on the air
(SOTA), and other outdoor radio events. The ARS also publishes a quarterly
newsletter and maintains an online forum for members to share their experiences
and ideas.
The ARS is open to all licensed amateur radio operators who
are interested in portable and outdoor radio communication. The organization is
dedicated to promoting the hobby of amateur radio and to supporting its members
in their adventures in radio communication.
