Remote Display True RMS AC/DC Clamp Meter

Fluke 381 is a handheld clamp meter with a remote display. This allows the technician to move around the whole, measuring the readings. The remote display can be attached as well as removed from the meter. This makes it extremely useful in hazardous and congested places.

This device is specially designed to monitor true RMS values. In order to check the circuit overloading, we have to calculate the RMS current and compare the measured value to the rated value. Components of the electrical power system are rated in RMS current since their key constraint is related to heat dissipation.

KEY FEATURES:

·        With a fixed jaw, it can measure up to 1000A AC and DC current

·         With the iFlex probe, the meter can monitor 2500A AC current measurement

·         AC/DC measurement up to 1000V

·         True RMS AC voltage and current for non-linear signals

·         Frequency measurement up to 500Hz

·         Resistance measurement up to 60 kµ with continuity detection

TESTS:

AC & DC Current Measurements:

Use the following steps to measure AC or DC current readings.

1-      Turn the knob to the proper function.

2-      Let the screen stabilize and push the zero button on the meter.

3-      Open-jaw and insert it into the conductor.

4-      View reading on display.

AC Current With Current Probe:

1-      Connect the Flexible Current Probe.

2-      Attach the flexible meter on one end and the other end to the conductor surface.

3-      Maintain almost 1-inch distance of probes from the surface of a conductor.

4-      The AC reading will be displayed on the screen.

Resistance / Continuity

Turn the Rotary Function Switch to the ohm reading symbol.

2-      Remove power from the circuit being tested.

3-      Attach the black (-) lead to the COM terminal and the red (+) test label to another terminal.

4-      The resistance can be measured by placing the probe on a circuit at the desired location points, and the reading will be displayed on LCD.

Frequency Measurement:

1-      Turn the Meter Rotary Function Switch to the hertz symbol.

2-      Center the Jaw or Flexible Current Probe around the measurement source.

3-      The reading is displayed on LCD.
