DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus) is an improved version
of the original DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) digital radio standard. DAB+
uses a more efficient audio codec called HE-AAC (High-Efficiency Advanced Audio
Coding) which allows for better sound quality and the ability to transmit more
audio channels in the same amount of bandwidth compared to DAB. It also has a
more robust error correction system, which makes it more resistant to signal
interference and drops. DAB+ is currently being adopted by many countries as
the digital radio standard and is seen as the successor of FM radio.
