Castles On The Air

 

Castles On The Air (COTA-PA) is an award program that recognizes and promotes amateur radio communication from historic castles and fortifications in the Netherlands. The award is sponsored by the Netherlands Amateur Radio Society (VERON) and is open to all licensed amateur radio operators.

To qualify for the COTA-PA award, radio operators must make contact with other operators who are operating from a castle or fortification listed in the COTA-PA directory. The castle or fortification must be located in the Netherlands and must be a designated historic site. Radio operators can earn various levels of the COTA-PA award by contacting a certain number of different castles or fortifications.

The COTA-PA program is a popular activity among ham radio operators in the Netherlands, as it allows them to explore different locations, make new contacts, and learn about the history and culture of the Netherlands. It is also a way for ham radio operators to share their knowledge and skills with others and promote the hobby of amateur radio.
