Fluke FLK IRR1 SOL Solar Irradiance Meter

When monitoring the solar panel or a photovoltaic setup, there are four critical parameters to monitor: solar irradiance, ambient and PV module temperature, array orientation and angles and watts per square meter irradiance, and Fluke FLK IRR1 offer all in one easy to use solution. The tool can be used as a direct means to measure temperature by placing it onto the panel or the probes can be attached ad used. For the solar panels in the peak sun hours, a thousand watts produced by a solar panel is calculated as the number of hours per day in a grid of panels. To establish a baseline, we can use the meter to calculate the true solar irradiance and shading at the site.

FEATURES:

·         Dual Temperature Measurement Options

·         Integrated Compass and Inclination Sensor

·         Up to 1400W/m2 irradiance measurement

·         Precise Mono-Crystalline Sensor

·         Panel tilt angle measurement

TESTS:

Temperature And Irradiance Measurement with Built-in Sensor:

1-      Turn ON the device and select the desired unit for measurement from display.

2-      Place the meter directly on the panel.

3-      Internal sensor will take the measurement and the reading will be display on the display.

Temperature and Irradiance Measurement with Probe:

1-      Turn ON the device and select the desired unit for measurement from display.

2-      Attach the probe to the meter.

3-      Attach another end of the probe to the panel by placing the suction cup.

4-      Reading will display on the screen after a while.

Measuring Inclination:

1-      Turn on the device.

2-      Place the meter on the PV panel to get the tilt.

3-      If the inclination is uneven push the ZERO button for a while and then retake the reading.

Cardinal Direction Measurement:

1-      Perform irradiance, temperature, and inclination measurements with meter placed on and aligned with the PV panel.

2-      The compass function will show “---” when the tilt angle is above 20 degrees.

3-      A tilt angle of <20 degrees any compass reading showed will be inaccurate due to the influence of surrounding metal objects.

4-      Perform the compass measurement away from the PV panel by holding the meter or placing meter on a horizontal surface (0 to 20 degrees tilt) pointing the tip of the meter in the direction that the PV panel faces.
